TV Installation Guide
Would you install a new LCD or plasma television?
Many people will buy a new television without taking into consideration the installation of the screen. As the price of flat panel displays continues to fall, people are becoming more buy larger screens. Mounting a screen on one wall is a position of responsibility that should never be attempted by someone who is not sure.
But if you really want to then here are some steps as a guide to help you in the right direction.
1. Best place for your TV?
First step is to get an idea of where the television will go. Whether in one corner, a fireplace, or suspended from the ceiling, televisions can be mounted in virtually any position. Some factors keep in mind to help you decide:
o Improved ergonomics of its angle of vision - in other words, sitting in your usual position, the middle of the screen should be at eye level with the screen directly in front of you.
o angle with optimum visibility for many viewers - regardless of the specification "of television, use a compass and a string to ensure that all viewers are 35 ° from the center of the screen.
No wiring - decide where you want to route the signal and power cables. Do you want the cables hidden?
o Allow the light - take room lighting into account to avoid glare caused by lights on the screen.
2. Buy the right size TV for the bedroom.
If you have your TV, go to Step 3 below.
When it comes to image quality, before HDTV, size matters much more than now! If you're sitting too close to a standard definition TV, you will see the pixels. Ideally you would need to sit 3 to 6 times the size of the screen away from the television. Thus, for a 52 "television, it would mean sitting 13 - 26 ft or 4 to 8 meters away. However, with the ideal HDTV sitting position is 1.5 to 3 times the size of the screen. Therefore, for a 52 "screen would be 6.5 to 13 m or 2 to 4 m. Use this form to find your TV minimum and maximum size.
Distance (inches) / 3 = at least the size of television
Distance (inches) / 1.5 = maximum size of the television
It is also worth mentioning for those who look at 3:4, if you have already television 3:4 ratio and you buy a 16:9 TV, then you have a 16:9 TV to get more size visible as a 3:4 screen. At 32 "4:3 has the same visual image (in 4:3 ratio) as a 40" 16:9.
3. Choose brackets
Support of television will be necessary to mount the TV on the wall. In general, they come free with the TV. They are generally sold separately and may vary by model, where you're mounting and how much movement you want. There are 5 types to choose from: low profile, Tilt Swivel, ceiling and cantilevered.
o A low profile bracket offers no movement and the TV will be placed near the wall, as if was a work of art.
o Switching between brackets do exactly that, tilt up or downwards.
o Support swivel gives you a lot of movement, allowing you to tilt the screen on the side and top to bottom.
o A support as the cantilever is pivot, but you can also fire screen wall. Useful when you want your screen set in a corner.
No ceiling support, sometimes you can to run cables through the support tube. You can even get motorized ceiling mounts that will move the screen and the hide in the ceiling.
The most important thing is to check the booklet that came with the TV | Television |) screen, and you get support is consistent and takes the proper load. You should also keep in mind how much you need access to the rear of the screen; For example, a medium low profile may look cleaner because he is suspended against the wall, but has the disadvantage of not having a lot of room for cables behind.
4. Locate the outer edges of the poles
A stud wall is a vertical piece of wood that is part of the framework for the room. You would ideally be screwing the studs in the wall mounting bracket. To find the amount you'll need a stud finder. Make sure you buy one that will work for your wall. Some stud finders only work with either plasterboard or gypsum, some will do both. Mark the outer edges of the posts if you know where the screw.
5. Mounting arms, screw the bracket on television
The support will consist of two parts, one part is screwed on television and the other to the wall. Find a suitable screwdriver and Screw the mounting arm on the screen until it stops.
6. Mark-up on the wall
(Measure the height of the bottom of the TV to where the screws will go into the wall. Ad this value to the height you want the bottom of the TV from the floor or a fireplace. With a spirit level to draw a horizontal line. Measure the distance between the screws for the mounting bracket, then mark the wall where screws will use your horizontal line and the amount marks as guides.
7. Wall mount bracket Bolt
You may need to start to make the holes with an electric drill a pilot hole of the screw. Put a dust sheet from the wall. Do not make the hole too big. A lock 3 mm should be sufficient. Bolt the bracket to the wall.
8. Ask for help lifting the TV.
If possible, connect your cable in the first screen.
Now that the brackets are on and the cables are in place, then it is time to hang the TV. Make sure you get the help that it is one of the leading causes of back pain! You should never block a television or move it yourself.
9. Safety lock locks
Finally, make sure that safety locks on the mounting bracket are fully guaranteed.
Although this work is doable by those experienced in the craft, it is never as simple as the above suggests. Some people may have brick or stone walls, for example. For the sake of £ 70 it is useful to recall the possibility of obtaining professional to do it for you. They have the right tools for any eventuality, and it removes all responsibility from you. If you are in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom so I can counsel the ISS . They will also supply satellite or aerial form and digital if required.
