Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U a glance
Each model HDTV has advantages and disadvantages, which are both useful to consider when shopping for an HDTV. The Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U, for example, consumes less electricity than most models, but produced levels in black are not too deep. It has other advantages and disadvantages, and that you should look before buying one.
One of the best features of the Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U is its excellent system of 120 Hz video processing, which enables it to display up to 120 frames per second - five times the rate of film at 24 frames per second. It also has a frame interpolation algorithm called Fine Motion Enhanced parameter, which oversees Replacement inserts in the actual frames to create the movement smooth transition and sharpness of images in motion.
The LC-52D85U also has a automatic backlight. All LCD TVs have a backlight either fluorescent or LED, and in most cases, you must adjust the brightness under different lighting conditions, as you do with the LCD screen of your computer. With the LC-52D85U, however, the backlight adjusts automatically so that you will not change anything. You do not even need to continue to adjust the contrast ratio because that is something that the LC-52D85U automatically, thus producing clear images with many colors.
The LC-52D85U comes with a sufficient if not excellent, the number of inputs and outputs, as well, although not as extensive as some higher-end models due to the absence a USB port, LAN port and SD card slot. It has five HDMI inputs - which is more than most of HDTV sets offer - with two inputs Component video inputs, 1 S-video, four audio line-ins and many other more popular. It even has a VGA input so you can connect any computer you own and use the screen HDTV as a monitor.
Apart from these, the LC-52D85U uses an LCD display 10-bit for smoother gradations of color, and offers a color management system so that you can control the hue and saturation of primary and secondary colors. You can even control your other devices HDMI, the on and off simultaneously by pressing a single button, which is made possible by the AQUOS Link function of the LC-52D85U.
As for drawbacks, One area in which the Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U falls short of its design. Like many HDTVs, the LC-52D85U has a black frame brilliant without accents to distinguish from the rest of the crowd. Similarly, the remote looks like several others, with buttons that are too small and difficult distinguished from each other in the dark, even with the backlight, since the labels are on the body and are not illuminated.
The LC-52D85U also fails in usability since the manual lacks an index and its on-screen menu presents many problems. Such problem is that it remains on the screen while you make adjustments, making it difficult to see and adjust images. It is also difficult to tell who's who entry in the menu, since all are listed and appear only as an input, input 2, and so on and so forth, instead of being labeled as AV or HDMI. To be fair, you can rename the inputs of the device they are connected to so you can find it easier to remember.
As its design, the audio quality of the Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U also fails to impress, depth and clarity resulting in lack dialogues poor, so it is best combined with an excellent system Surround sound. Despite all this, however, the Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U is still a great buy for its price - which is below certain sets of 50 inches - so it is always worth considering.
