Fitting remote locking to an 1998 audi a3 with central locking?
I am looking to get a remote locking kit for my 1998 audi a3. It already has central locking so I am not worried about fitting motors/solenoids. I am wondering how do I put the wires through the car and where is the best place to put the control box?
The easiest place to locate the control box is in the driver's door, as it already contains the permanent live & switched feeds to & from the door lock.
HOWEVER, according to my info, all A3 models have remote locking from their introduction in 1996 - at that age, you should have the remote key with retractable blade.
