How do I connect a home theater, TV and HDMI cable with box with one HDMI port in the TV?
The flat screen has an HDMI input and one optical port, the Home Theater is the same as the HD cable box.
Connect the cable box with HDMI inputs on your home theater amplifier, then connect the amp HDMI OUTPUT for your TV HDMI input .... Then all Accessories like a PS3 or X box to connect to the audio amp and just use the amp audio switch video .... Of course, this means you must have your audio amplifier on all the time when you watch TV .... The optical ports can be used for the sound that your decoder cable has optical ports on the back too .... So if you want the audio amplifier off most of the time, you then connect your set-top box directly into the TV and use the optical port to deliver sound to the AMP ..... The disadvantage is when you add something more like the PS3 and HD-DVD .... you MUST amp to switch devices when you have more than one device .... So make your choice on how to use your .. equipment ..
