What price should i expect to pay to fix a cracked engine mount and leak from the power steering hose?
It is a 55 plate Mini Copper S and it went in for a service and the dealer advised these items needed doing and quoted me almost £600 which i think is very expensive. Just wondered what people in the know thought. It has 27,000 miles on the clock.

Cracked engine mount, sound to me like you abuse the car or a bad design at 27,000 miles I say is a bad design, so expect to dish out the same amount of money in another 27,000 miles. Crack power steering hose now it tells me that this vehicle was made with improper spare parts. Even so 600 that is an equivalent to about 900 or 1100 US and that my friend is very expensive. You can get that done with brand new parts for less than 200US here on high end vehicles. Mind you an engine mount is not easy to damage, but extremely easy to replace. If it takes about 30 minutes to do it for a big V8 engine and all you need is a jack and some wrenches, I can imagine you can do it in less time with your vehicle.
